Kelly Brand Management is working with its brands to ensure October 13 – Amazon Prime Day is a successful one. The original Prime Day was scheduled for mid-July, but because of COVID-19 the infamous sale was postponed. One of the major concerns around Prime Day this year is shipping and how quickly consumers can get their highly anticipated sale items. Getting selected for Prime Deals is no easy feat even for well established brands, but whether you got accepted or not, there are different ways you can still create buzz around the eComm giant’s proprietary cyber sale. KBM is working with our clients to make sure they are ready to move the needle on the most important shopping days in October with promotions, Prime exclusive deals and coupons to name a few. However, the timing of the sale has large implications on this year’s holiday shopping season.
“Many major outlets are urging consumers to shop earlier this year given the added stress on shipping channels due to COVID-19. Prime Day will also give consumers a chance to guarantee they will get a good deal and receive their holiday packages in time,” Glen Reich, senior account manager at KBM said.
The company has addressed the transportation strain by stating, “there is always added stress to transportation during the holidays, and with the pandemic crisis, it has the potential to increase. Companies are encouraged to send inventory to their fulfillment centers, schedule product launches, and run deals and promotions earlier”.
Amazon is highlighting some key factors for this year’s Prime Day including; increased peak fulfillment product storage capacity worldwide, investment of $100 million to connect with customers who own small businesses, and investment in quick communication during the pandemic through email, news in Seller Central, and their forums.
“Amazon Prime Day is a great way to get consumers to purchase products now either for themselves or as a gift at a deep discount before the holiday shopping season. This helps get your product in front of new consumers that are able to determine if they’d like to purchase your product for themselves or as a gift in the future, especially during the holiday shopping season. Think of it as a Cyber Monday pre-sale,” Reich said.
Amazon Prime Day like most years, will be for 2 days. It will begin at 12 a.m. on October 13 and end at 11:59 p.m. on October 14.
